Runners

I bought myself new runners this week. I had been saving for them so felt less guilty about their price tag. I bought my last pair for mothers day last year and ran over 300km in them (I know this would take marathon runners 2 months to do that but I think it is pretty impressive.)
My old runners - great!

My new runners are Brooks as well and are a slightly different style. First run down and I like them. No blisters and nice support.

Which helps with operation run faster - up to 4.8 this week. Makes me feel like I am going to die still so I will stick to this speed for a while.

Registration has opened for a fun local run. I did a 5k last year and am torn. Do I run another 5k and try to do the best I can or do I push myself and do a 10k? I ran a 10k last summer on the hottest day of the year. It was not a good run and I would like to see if I could do it again and not suffer as much.

Thoughts?

  1. Here is my thought. Do the 10K. Last January I did a 10K trail run in coooooold weather. I nearly died, finished last, and was neatly reminded why and how much I HATE running. But I will say it was amazing to cross the finish and have everyone cheering and know I did it.
Earlier (a year before?) I also did the learn to run program w/ running room and accidentally did 11.6km the last day. Our instructor was sick so no one told us to stop!
Mama if I of all people can do it, YOU CAN!!!!!!
